Foreigner's favourite spot

Providencia is the most popular commune to live in for foreigners in Santiago. Safe, central, dynamic and cosmopolitan, it’s a great area to meet people and go out. Ñuñoa

A diverse and relaxed lifestyle

Not as “touristic” as Providencia, foreigners love Ñuñoa for its relaxed lifestyle. With neighborhoods like Italia or Bellas artes, the commune is appreciated for its diversity. This middle class residential zone is a mix of nice houses, international restaurants, museums and parks. Thus, Ñuñoa is a good place to live in Santiago for students, nomads and young professionals.

How to find an accommodation to rent in Santiago?

1. Know what you are looking for

Santiago has a lot to offer. Before searching, know your budget and the neighbourhoods that correspond to your needs. You should try to live close to your university/office to save money and time on transportation.
For example, do you like to party or prefer a quieter area? It should influence your decision. Regardless, all the options above are good choices.
Once you know what you’re looking for, you can go check different options.

2. Ask your friends & Facebook groups

Do you know someone who has lived in Santiago before? People you know are the most reliable source of information in that case. So ask them for the contact information of their house and they can tell you their firsthand experience with the house.

Also, you can look for Facebook groups or search for ‘Rooms Santiago’ or similar terms and you will find several options of accommodation to rent in Santiago. But be careful when making a payment in advance, every year there are numerous scams.

You can also come and sleep for a week in a hostel to discover options in person. We’ll be here to help!
